Do you want to help foster interest in the Internal Medicine subspecialty field of Oncology Medicine, while enhancing your own clinical, professional, teamplayer and leadership growth?

Are you able to work well with others in an efficient respectful manner and adhere to a professional Code of Conduct?

Are you an existing officer or do you have leadership experience?
​
Are you able to consistently volunteer to serve (w/time out of your study schedule for both regular meetings, special meetings, urgent Officer meetings, etc) and have good time management skills to allow others & yourself time to study through the demanding nature of med school?
Are you an active ASCO member in good standing with an ASCO ID # that has at least an entire semester of service as a member in order to have a valid nomination for election?

Application for vacancies
​
Using the guidelines specified below, email a completed ASCO|OSIG|UAG officer application & materials to President
​
Processing of online submission may be carried out electronically (interested servant-leader candidates for a vacancy created, please submit using your completed Interest Form application & professional Photo with your UAG email along with your ASCO ID# for validation & verification.
​
Submission to fill personnel vacancy created uses the following H.R. / personnel management process:

Officers are allowed to run for re-election for any position they would like.

Officers are allowed to hold only 1 position within this organization.

Board/Leadership Committee input on personnel candidate is performed electronically, then personnel/candidate's requirements is verified by both Treasurer and the Founder&President

Member must be nominated for office by another member who has also served at least one semester.

Founder/President announces (replacement) leader's name during meeting
-
An officer replaces another at the end of the academic year in the Spring (or optional semester's end for any graduating student* listed as needed) to prepare for the upcoming semester.

*Note:\\Elections for the academic year's officers is scheduled to be held at the end of Spring semester (May 2023) for the next year's board and leadership committee (Fall 2023-Spring 2024).

Requirements:

Governing Board members term is 2 academic semesters: able to replace from existing offices if officer is graduating mid-year for that role, (ie, from current composition of ASCO | OSIG | UAG leadership to replace from existing officer team), #3, #4, #5, #6

Leadership Committee positions require "#3, #4, #5, #6"

Active paid status (verifiable dues have been paid to Treasurer prior to submitting an officer application for nomination)

Member is in good standing with ASCO OSIG at UAG (with no sanctions, no Code of Conduct/disciplinary events, etc.)

ASCO ID # is provided

Active status-Attendance requirement is attending/participating in at least 3/4's of all board meetings/monthly meetings, activities & events during one year (2-consecutive semesters) tenure; person will be automatically replaced/ Removed by President or Faculty advisor via vacancy (replacement officer for remaining duration of the academic semester until next election is held) if unable to be present (online or in-person) at our activities (e.g., only miss 1 meeting/semester) or inadequate fulfillment of duties/responsibilities, or the violation of regulations described in University policies, or any federal, state or local laws.
