Welcome to Our Oncology World of OSIG at UAG
The American Clinical Society of Oncology (ASCO) | Oncology Student Interest Group (OSIG) is an organization intended to help students learn more about the field of Oncology. The Oncology Student Interest Group (OSIG) hopes to excite future physicians about oncology as well as provide them the tools to grow and learn within this specialty. OSIG provides resources for medical students who are considering a career in oncology via regular meetings with specialists and professionals in the field as well as contact information for local physicians. The ASCO | OSIG chapter is geared towards medical students who are considering pursuing a career in oncology medicine, participating in service activities, poster/research panels, Journal club, or exploring topics in oncology during medical school.

Our medical student membership enables you to be actively involved --
Activities that OSIG chapter members are involved in include presenting at national conferences (i.e., ASCO), oncology and oncology sub-specialty panels (Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Pediatric Oncology, etc.) for medical students, mentoring, volunteering opportunities in the hospital & community including programs advocating for oncology medicine and research, and workshops on early identification and treatment modalities in oncology care.
Opportunities
UAG medical students have opportunities to ask oncologists or interface with oncology physicians/specialists as a resource for questions about medical school, residency, academic & private practice oncology, etc.
The goal of the UAG Oncology Student Interest Group is...
to spark interest in the oncology field, introduce new aspects of the oncology field, strengthen knowledge about oncology during medical school, and provide an opportunity to strengthen a curriculum vita for Oncology Residency/Fellowship application.
Come on, drop by our scholarly OSIG|ASCO society gatherings to discuss how we can help identify, attack, and prevent cancer with the tools available to our chapter from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. We invite to leave a suggestion, e-mail, or Join Us!
